Mission: The Niobrara Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to being Niobrara County's main resource by disseminating information to promote, protect and prospect its members while reaching out to our community and visitors.

Board Members-President Twyla Barker, Treasurer Patti Miller, Kathy MCCaunahey, George Mirich, Sabrina Kruse and Jane Filener also represents the ROCS group. We have two openings on the board if you are a member and are interested in serving on the board.

As a member we promote your events and encourage people to shop locally. We often give out chamber bucks as a way to promote local events and local shopping. Chamber Bucks are also available for purchase at the chamber office in increments of $5.
We also offer referrals via the internet, phone, mail, social media and walk ins.
We have a working relationship with our congressional representatives, Wyoming Business Council, Small Business Development etc.
We offer our marketing mail permit and free notary services to our members. The Niobrara Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization funded through memberships, fundraisers, Town of Lusk and the Lodging Tax Board. We provide the services of the Lusk Lodging Tax board, which is the majority of our budget.

NIOBRARA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MINUTES
February 15, 2022
The meeting was called to order by President Twyla Barker at 10:00 . Also present were Kathy and Patti and director Jackie Bredthauer. Kathy moved to approve the agenda, motion carried. Patti moved to accept the minutes, motion carried. The treasurers report was reviewed and filed for audit.
OLD BUSINESS:
ROCS: Jane was not here to report
NEW BUSINESS:
Business Updates: The new Mexican restaurant hopes to open in March. The Outpost, Lusk State Bank and Prairie View Campground are in the process of new ownership. Abraxas has been sold and will be closing their office in February.
Wyoming Child and Family, the Hospital, The Senior Center and the School district have some job openings.
Sandrock Vision and Miller Construction are keeping busy.
Bank of the West is fully staffed and all their employees have been there at least a year. For security reasons, they will have to close at 1:00 for lunch breaks when they are short staffed for the day.
NEA is fully staffed, doing well and keeping busy.

The meeting was called to order by President Twyla Barker at 10:00 . Also present were George and director Jackie Bredthauer. Twyla moved to approve the agenda and the minutes motion carried. The treasurers report was reviewed and filed for audit.
OLD BUSINESS:
ROCS: Jane was not here to report
NEW BUSINESS:
Business Updates: The former Rough and Refined Building is going to be a new Mexican restaurant.
The Outpost and Prairie View Campground are in the process of being sold
Silver Dollar Bar has been under new ownership and they are in the process of obtaining permission for minors to be in the bar to eat.
Abraxas has sold and the office here will be closing soon.
The Senior Center is looking for a new director.
The school district is looking for a new business manager. The board has approved plans for COVID dollars. The district has a music teacher for this semester only and will be looking for a new teacher for next year. They are also looking for a para in special ed due to an increase in need and will probably be having some positions open for next fall.
NEA is fully staffed and Chance Wilder has passed his apprenticeship and is in now a journey man and they still have two employees in the apprenticeship program.
Legislative Updates: Legislation will be in session beginning February 14th and Jackie will be attending the Governors Conference in Cheyenne during the legislation. Some things we need to pay attention to are: standards for education, and school funding (including increase of reserves allowed)
